SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University baseball team fell to Seton Hill despite allowing just three hits on Tuesday, 6-2, at Fairchild Field.

Shippensburg (16-9) battled for eight innings in a low-scoring affair before giving up four runs in the final frame.

Despite only knocking three base hits, Seton Hill (11-7) scored three runs via sacrifices flies.

The Griffins took the lead in the first after a sacrifice fly from Logan Vietmeier.

The Raiders were unable to answer until the bottom of the sixth, plating a single run on back-to-back doubles from graduate
Justin Byler and sophomore
Gio Calamia.

Seton Hill quickly responded with its second sacrifice-fly, this time from Cameron Colwell.

Byler tied the game with his second RBI in the eighth, grounding out to the pitcher to bring home freshman
Tony Falvo.

In the top of the ninth SU gave up four runs on just one hit, including two on a slow roller to the Raider shortstop, which resulted in a 6-2 Seton Hill lead.

Seton Hill's Bryce Barker took to the mound in the home half and retired all three batters faced as the Griffins secured the victory.

Junior
Ethan Miller got the start for Shippensburg, allowing just one hit and one run through six innings, while also striking out five batters.

Freshman
Brenden Anderson was tacked with the loss after allowing three earned runs in one-plus innings pitched.

Sophomore
Jaxon Dalena made his SU pitching debut, switching from designated hitter in the ninth.

Byler extended his hitting streak to eight games with his RBI-double in the eighth.

Calamia recorded his eleventh multi-hit game of the season, highlighted by a double in the sixth.

Shippensburg returns to Fairchild Field on Friday to open the weekend series against #13 East Stroudsburg. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m.
