The Shippensburg women's basketball team dropped its Saturday afternoon matchup at Holy Family, 65-49, at the Campus Center Gymnasium.
Shippensburg (0-4) was held to just 16 points in the first half by Holy Family (3-1) and could not recover from the early deficit. The Tigers made six three-pointers in the first half as they built a 16-point lead by halftime. SU outscored the hosts in the second half, 33-32.

Taja Colbert cut the deficit to three, but Holy Family used a 9-0 scoring run to take an 18-8 lead after one quarter.
Both teams went back-and-forth early in the second quarter as Holy Family held onto its double-digit lead. The Tigers used a 7-0 scoring run and a 3:39 scoring drought by the Raiders to take a 33-16 lead into the half.
Shippensburg got the offense moving more in the second half with a 16-point third quarter. Early threes from freshmen

Mia Johnson cut the deficit to 12, but the Tigers had an answer each time, taking a 50-32 lead into the fourth quarter.
The Raiders opened the fourth with a 10-3 run to cut the lead back down to 11 points. The sides traded scores over the remainder of the quarter and a 7-1 run over the final three minutes helped the Tigers pull away to a comfortable victory.
Colbert scored a team-high 10 points with three assists. Buie set a new career high of nine points, shooting 50 percent from the field and making her only attempted three-pointer. Her four rebounds and three steals were also new highs. Junior
Abbie Miller also added nine points, shooting 5-of-6 from the free throw line.
Chimienti went 4-of-5 from the line to score nine points, a new career high. She also set highs of four rebounds and two steals. Graduate

Shippensburg hosts Goldey-Beacom at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Heiges Field House.
