SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University men's basketball team was unable to slow down the No. 23 ranked East Stroudsburg Warriors Wednesday evening at Heiges Field House, 108-78.

Shippensburg (6-6, 4-2 PSAC) got an NCAA Division II-leading eighth double-double from graduate forward Dom Sleva, who finished with 19 points and 13 rebounds in the loss.

East Stroudsburg (11-1, 5-1 PSAC) reached the century mark in scoring for the sixth time this season behind a career-high performance from 2021-22 PSAC Men's Basketball Athlete of the Year Carlos Pepin, who poured in 37 points and added 14 boards.

The Warriors led nearly wire-to-wire, opening up a 20-point lead at halftime, 47-27, and extending the margin by shooting 57-percent from the field and 64 percent from three in the second half.

A well-worked high-low pass from senior Carlos Carter leading to a layup from freshman Denzel Figueroa provided the Raiders with a touch of momentum entering the locker room.

Redshirt sophomore Ty Crespo drained a pair of threes to get the hosts back within twenty midway through the second half, but they could not sustain any momentum thanks to the Warriors suffocating full court defense.

East Stroudsburg forced 15 Shippensburg turnovers and outscored the opposition 23-to-7 in fast break points.

The Raiders saw five players reach double figures in scoring. Graduate Luke Nedrow filled up the stat sheet, recording 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Redshirt senior Rashon Johnson finished with 12 points. Crespo tallied a career-high 11 points, and Carter rounded out the double figure scorers with 10.

Sleva's 19-point effort leaves him at 998 career points, two shy of the 1,000-point milestone. Carter is not far behind with 986.

Point guard Justin Paz added 15 points and 6 assists for East Stroudsburg.

The Raiders return to action with a road tilt against the Edinboro Fighting Scots Saturday. Tip-off from Edinboro's McComb Fieldhouse is set for 3 p.m.
