SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University women's soccer team played to a 1-1 tie Wednesday night against Millersville in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division match at David See field.
Shippensburg (0-3-1, 0-2-1 PSAC) took the lead in the eighth minute with the first career goal from senior
Skylar Lambert, who finished a cross in the box off an assist from
Imogen Longcake.
Millersville (0-3-1, 0-2-1 PSAC) answered in the 41st minute with a goal from Savannah Rennix. The match remained neutral going into the second half.
The two teams had almost identical stat lines for the entire match. Shippensburg had six total shots on goal to the Marauders five. Neither team could find the back of the net after the first half. Lambert broke open past two Marauder defenders with three minutes left in the game, but goalkeeper Reagan Kolinski came up with the save.
The Raiders snapped a two-game losing streak in PSAC East play.
Shippensburg will be back in action next week at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Shepherd.
