RECAP: Women’s Soccer ends in 1-1 tie on the road against Shepherd

SU unable to hang on in final seconds

The Shippensburg University women's soccer team could not maintain a lead late at Shepherd on Wednesday afternoon, playing to a 1-1 tie in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division match in Shepherdstown.

Shippensburg (0-3-2, 0-2-2 PSAC East) scored early in the first half with a goal from senior Skylar Lambert off an assist from freshman Ryleigh Cook.

Shepherd (2-3-2, 1-3-1) battled back in the final two seconds, at the 89:58 mark, tying the score off a penalty kick from forward Sarah Hohn.

The Raiders managed only two shots on goal, while sophomore goalkeeper Morgan Molyneaux was credited with nine saves in the contest.

Shippensburg will be back in action at 2 p.m. Saturday at David See Field for a PSAC East matchup against East Stroudsburg.
