SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University men's soccer team dropped a physical Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division contest to the East Stroudsburg Warriors on Saturday, falling 1-0 on Parents and Family Day at David See Field.
Shippensburg (2-2-1, 0-2-1 PSAC East) couldn't hold East Stroudsburg (3-4-0, 2-0-0) off the board for long when, in the 15th minute, freshman Ethan Flickinger was able to curl a shot inside the right post from near the sideline to give the Warriors the 1-0 lead.
SU's closest chance of the match came in the 58th minute when junior forward
Seth Crabbe hit the crossbar with a long shot from well outside the box.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Cody Willoughby made four saves in the contest.
The physical game includes a total of 23 fouls and four yellow cards.
SU returns to action at 5 p.m. Wednesday as the team travels to Lock Haven.
