The Shippensburg University women's soccer team could not hang on in its second road game of the season, dropping a 1-0 decision to No. 16 West Chester at Rockwell Field.

Morgan Molyneaux was credited with nine saves. The Raiders doubled their shots from last Friday vs Frostburg State, totaling 10.
The game was tied until the 39th minute when an unfortunate foul was called on the Raiders inside the box. The Golden Rams scored their only goal in the match off the resulting penalty kick from forward Alyson Cutter.
West Chester (2-0-0), picked in a tie for first in the PSAC East preseason poll and 16th in United Soccer coaches' preseason poll, tagged 10 shots on goal, while goalkeeper Haley McGee recorded three saves in the contest.
Shippensburg is back in action Saturday vs No. 13 Kutztown in its home opener at David See Field.
