CoachPiscottyShippensburg University volleyball coach Leanne Piscotty was featured this week in PennLive's article called "The 50 most influential female athletes from central Pa. over the last 50 years."

Reporter Eric Epler's article wrote in the introduction to the article that "On the 50th anniversary of Title IX, it is appropriate to honor central Pa. athletes who not only embraced an opportunity but bettered their lives because of it."

Piscotty, who will enter her 19th season as Shippensburg University's head volleyball coach in 2022, has directed the Raiders to 385 victories during her tenure, including the 2015 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championship and eight NCAA Tournament appearances.

The article, linked above, highlighted Piscotty's prep career at Shippensburg Area Senior High School as a three-sport athlete in volleyball, basketball and track & field in addition to her standout career as a volleyball player under legendary coach Russ Rose. Piscotty was a two-time All-American and the 1992 Big Ten Player of the Year with the Nittany Lions who transitioned into coaching after her playing career concluded.
