RECAP: Lacrosse drops road match at No. 4 East Stroudsburg, 20-7

Seifried scores four goals to lead the Raiders

The Shippensburg University lacrosse team came up short at No. 4 East Stroudsburg on Saturday, losing 20-7 to the Warriors in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division match on a sunny but windy afternoon at Whitenight Field.
 
Shippensburg (2-8, 0-5 PSAC East) scored the opening goal, but East Stroudsburg (9-0, 5-0) countered with eight consecutive goals. The Warriors led 14-4 at halftime.
 
Senior Hannah Seifried recorded four goals and an assist. Three other Raiders - senior Gabby Savarino, senior Kasey Schuchardt, and freshman Jamie Carvin each found the back of the net once. Senior Jena MacDonald recorded one assist.
 
Freshman Francesca Picone and Savarino both had three groundballs each, while MacDonald was credited with two groundballs. Savarino and junior Julianna Capozzolli both had a team-high three caused turnovers, while Picone and Seifried each had two.
 
Freshman Kayla Vosburg made five saves, while senior KiKi Brasher had two saves.
 
The Warriors had a 18-13 draw control advantage. Savarino had a season-high of six draw controls, while Seifired had five.
 
Shippensburg will host Millersville for a divisional clash at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Robb Sports Complex.
