The Shippensburg University lacrosse team came up short on Saturday afternoon at No. 18 Seton Hill, dropping a 15-9 decision to the Griffins at Dick's Sporting Goods Field.

Shippensburg (1-1) got four goals from freshman
Sara Vosburg, three from senior
Gabby Savarino and a goal each from seniors
Hannah Seifried and
Jena MacDonald.

Seton Hill (1-0) led 4-0 after the first quarter but the Raiders responded to tie the score at 5-5 two minutes into the third quarter with a goal by Savarino. The Griffins answered with a 7-1 run to take control.

The Raiders were credited with 11 caused turnovers: three each from Seifried and junior
Kayla Jones and two each from senior
Clairanne Chairs and junior
Carly Switala (Wexford, Pa./Pine-Richland).

Seifried also led the Raiders with five groundballs. Junior goalkeeper
Ally Weneta had four groundballs and Switala and Jones each finished with three.

Weneta got the start in goal and made nine saves in 50 minutes of action. Senior
KiKi Brasher worked the final 10 minutes, making one save.

Seton Hill got four goals and three caused turnovers from Jaclyn Frank and three goals and four assists from Piper Conlan.
