SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University volleyball team overcame a slow start to charge past West Chester on Saturday afternoon at Heiges Field House in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division matchup that secured the Raiders the No. 2 East seed in the 2022 PSAC Tournament. Set scores were 23-25, 25-18, 25-12, 25-22.

Shippensburg (18-11, 10-4 PSAC East) had three Raiders with double-digit kills, as sophomore
Emily Gardner led the Raiders with her first double-double of the season with 15 kills and 13 digs. Senior
Rachel Verhoef had 12 kills, swinging .476, with only two errors. Verhoef was a wall in the front with a career-high four block solos and two block assists. Sophomore
Kat Negron posted her third double-double with 11 kills and 10 digs.

Freshman
Kearstin Davis had her tenth 40+ assist match of the season with 44 assists and 13 digs. It was her ninth double-double this season with assists and digs. Fellow freshman
Erica Lampus led the Raiders with 15 digs. Senior
Oyinda Agbale had nine kills and three block assists, while sophomore
Maddie Clabaugh had six kills with five digs and a block assist.

The Raiders struggled with their passing in the first set but were able to recuperate and regroup in the next three sets. The Raiders swung .433 in the second and third set, with only one error in the third set. In the fourth set, West Chester (20-9, 8-6) rallied back from 24-18 and saved four match points before senior
Jordan Bowen finished it off.

With today's win, Shippensburg will host a PSAC Quarterfinal on Wednesday at 7 p.m., against East Stroudsburg.
