The Shippensburg University women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to Charleston on Sunday at the D2 in the DMV Tournament held in Leesburg, Va.
Shippensburg (0-2-0) held with Charleston (1-1-0) for much of the match, but a Golden Eagle goal with 17 minutes to play proved to be the difference. Kiera Hill received a pass and fired a shot that bounced into the lower right of the goal past diving goalkeeper
Kendra Barlow.
The Raiders applied pressure late and earned a corner with five seconds remaining but were unable to get a shot on goal.
Shots on goal were 6-2 in Charleston's favor. Corner kicks were 6-4 in Charleston's favor.
Barlow finished with four saves for the Raiders.
Shippensburg opens Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division play at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Shepherd.
