Box Score The Shippensburg University volleyball team dropped a match to Adelphi on Friday in straight sets by scores of 24-26, 21-25 and 18-25 at the Tony Banner Memorial Volleyball Tournament hosted by Clarion University.

Shippensburg (0-2) received an efficient hitting performance from junior
Rachel Verhoef, who slammed a match-high 11 kills and had just one error – hitting .476. Â

Kat Negron had nine kills, while freshman
Emily Gardner added eight kills. Junior
Oyinda Agbale had four blocks. Freshman
Lily Letchworth had a team-high nine digs in addition to 19 assists.

Adelphi (1-1) exceled at the service line, totaling 12 aces. The Panthers got nine kills from Noelle Alberda, eight kills from Samantha Meehan and hit .183 as a team.

Shippensburg returns to action Saturday at Clarion with neutral-site matches against New Haven and Ursuline.
