SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – Senior Jazmin Petrantonio set the Shippensburg University record for career goals on Saturday as the No. 1-ranked Raiders opened Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) play with a 2-0 over Mansfield on a sunny afternoon at Robb Sports Complex.
 
Shippensburg (5-0, 1-0 PSAC) finished with a 18-3 advantage in shots on goal and 15-2 advantage in corners. The Raiders took control with two first-quarter goals. After six minutes of play, Petrantonio scored the first goal – the 81st of her career – to move her past Kristina Taylor and put her atop the SU career record book.
 
Minutes after the first goal, freshman Mya Kemp found the stick of senior Jenna Sluymer for the second goal.
 
Freshman Lindsay Tripodo earned her second shutout of the season; she was credited with three saves.
 
Mansfield (3-4, 0-1) kept close as its goalkeeper August Lewis recorded 16 saves.
 
Shippensburg is right back in action at 11 a.m. tomorrow when it hosts Queens University of Charlotte for a non-conference match at Robb Sports Complex.
