SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University baseball team split a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division doubleheader with Mansfield on Friday, winning Game 2, 7-2, after dropping Game 1, 4-3, in action at Fairchild Field.

Shippensburg (14-12, 12-10 PSAC East) managed just four hits in the opener but rebounded early in Game 2 with a two-run home run by
Justin Darden.
Tony Vavaroutsos had two doubles and three RBIs, while
Chase Zurawski had an RBI-single among his two hits. Darden scored three times, while Zurawski scored twice.

JuJu Cason stole two more bases, giving him 14 for the season. It's the most stolen bases by a Raider in a season since Mike Marcinko had 30 steals in 2016.

Kyle Lysy got the Game 2 win, allowing five hits and one walk while striking out nine. The only run against Lysy was a solo home run in the sixth inning.

Mansfield (8-18, 7-15) got four hits in the doubleheader from Zach Shertzer. The Mounties also got a two-run double from Zach Spray and a homer from Assaf Lowengart. Eric Gustofson scattered three runs (one earned) in five innings to win the opener.

Shippensburg heads to Tioga County tomorrow for a noon matchup with the Mountaineers at Shaute Field.
