SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University men's basketball team overcame a halftime deficit Saturday night to post a 72-66 win over Gannon in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) mandated crossover at Heiges Field House.
Shippensburg (3-3, 1-1 PSAC) shot just 31 percent in the first half and trailed by 10 points early in the second half. SU used a 16-2 run in a 3:34 span to take a four-point lead with 13:53 to play and did not trail the rest of the way.
The Raiders shot 60 percent from field in the second half, including 7-of-9 from three-point range. SU also made 5-of-6 free throws in the final two minutes to help clinch the win.

Rashon Johnson dropped 16 points, grabbed eight rebounds, and was a perfect 3-for-3 from behind the arc. Senior
Kiyon Hardy matched his career high in points with 16, created four assists and grabbed three rebounds.

Dom Sleva had a near double-double with nine points, 12 rebounds, two steals and one assist. Junior
Carlos Carter scored nine of his 14 points in the second half, totaled two assists and two steals. Carter also hit a clutch three-pointer to put the Raiders up by six with 49 seconds remaining.
Gannon (4-2, 1-1) lost its lead with 15:18 remaining and could not muster enough offense to reclaim the lead down the stretch. Ike Herster scored a season-high 20 points and Alonde Legrand scored 18 points, secured 13 rebounds and had two assists, two steals and one block. Lance-Amir Paul led the Golden Knights in assists with three; he also added 13 points and seven rebounds.
Shippensburg will break a few days for final exams and return to action at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 12 with a non-conference game at Bowie State.
