SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University football team completed the 2021 season with a 9-2 overall record and a 5-2 division record.
Its only losses came on the road to nationally-ranked opponents Kutztown and Shepherd – teams ranked No. 1 and No. 2 respectively in the final edition of the NCAA Super Region 1 rankings.

Shippensburg's 9-2 overall record is its best since 2017, when the Raiders went 10-2 and qualified for the NCAA Tournament.

The 2021 season marks the seventh time in school history that Shippensburg has won nine or more games in a season (2017 (10-2), 2012 (11-2), 2009 (9-3), 2004 (10-2), 1991 (10-3), 1981 (12-1)).

Shippensburg posted a 6-0 record at home in 2021, marking its first undefeated season at Seth Grove Stadium since 2012 and just its second this century. In the modern era of SU Football (1960-present), it is the seventh time that SU has completed a season with an undefeated home record (1976, 1978, 1982, 1991, 1999, 2012). SUÂ outscored opponents by a 217-76 margin at Seth Grove Stadium this season.Â

Jaxson Montross kicked 15 field goals this season, tied for second-most in SU single-season history with Howie Guarini (15 in 1990). Jamie Reder kicked a school-record 17 field goals in 2005.
• Montross finished second in single-season school history for points by kicking with 85 (Billy Deane had 92 points by kicking in 2015).
• Montross's 50-yard field goal in the season opener is the longest field goal in school history.
• Shippensburg scored 81 points off turnovers and allowed just 23 points off turnovers.
• Shippensburg's 33:27 average time of possession per game is its highest rate under head coach
Mark Maciejewski and its highest average time of possession per game in a single season since 2002 (33:45).
• Shippensburg's defense allowed 220 points in 2021 compared to 387 points allowed in 2019. Likewise, Shippensburg allowed 949 rushing yards and 11 rushing touchdowns in 2021 compared to 2,117 rushing yards and 32 rushing touchdowns in 2019.
