SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. -- The Shippensburg University women's soccer team lost 3-2 Wednesday in a rematch against Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division opponent Millersville at David See Field.
Shippensburg (4-8-1, 4-6-1 PSAC East) fell behind two goals but got one back in the 35th minute when senior
K.K. O'Donnell scored off a deep shot outside of the box. It was her team-leading fifth goal of the season.
After a second half Marauder goal, the Raiders responded in the 74th minute with the first goal of the season by senior
Julia Dalton off O'Donnell's assist.
Millersville (5-4-3, 5-4-2) used a strong start to gain the early momentum. In the 11th minute, Savannah Rennix scored off a cross by Emma Elwell. Rennix scored again four minutes later, this time off a Cassie Blyth assist as a result of a blocked shot.
In the second half, Blyth scored on a free kick in the 64th minute to extend the lead. The goal proved to be the eventual game winner.
Sophomore
Kendra Barlow made seven saves for Shippensburg, while Reagan Kolinski made five saves for Millersville. Shots on goal were 10-7 in MU's favor.
Shippensburg will host No. 3 Kutztown at 2 p.m. Saturday at David See Field.
