SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University women's soccer team went to double overtime with No. 3 Kutztown on Saturday, but ultimately came up short in the rematch with the Golden Bears by a 2-1 score in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division match at David See Field.
Shippensburg (4-9-1, 4-7-1 PSAC East) trailed 1-0 in the second half but equaled the score in the 79th minute, when senior K.K O'Donnell sent a shot off the crossbar, and after a few bounces and a failed Kutztown clear, senior
Julia Dalton headed in the equalizer.
Freshman goalkeeper
Morgan Molyneaux made her collegiate debut and recorded season-high 15 saves in her collegiate debut.
Kutztown (13-1, 11-1) first took the lead with a goal by Alisea Munshower in the 26th minute that was set up by Isabella Rossetti. With just 1:08 left, Savanna Harrison sent a centering pass that scraped a Raider defender and got through to Kayla Argen, who finished it into the net to win the match for the Golden Bears.
This is the third time in the last five matches at Shippensburg that the two teams have gone to overtime.
Shippensburg will host East Stroudsburg at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at David See Field.
