SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – New starting blocks have installed in Donald N. Miller Pool, the home facility of the Shippensburg University men's and women's swim teams.
Â
"We are so thrilled with this addition to our facility," head coach
Tim Verge '89 said. "I really want to thank our administration for their commitment, especially our Senior Associate Director of Athletics
Carrie Michaels, who helped bring this project to the forefront. I also want to extend my appreciation to our SU Facilities team, who got the blocks put in so quickly that they would be ready when the team returns."
Â
The new starting blocks, which feature university athletics branding and logos, are a positive addition to the facility that will enhance the experience for the Raider swimmers.
Â
"The blocks will significantly help our swimmers by allowing them to improve starts, by now having the wedge system," Verge said. "They are going to be tremendously excited to get to work with them."
Â
The blocks were installed by the university's facilities team in January 2021. They are ready for use upon the team's return to campus next month.
