SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) completed its #ONESHIPVOTES voting registration efforts last week, coinciding with the deadline in the state of Pennsylvania to register for the 2020 election.
A total of 462 student-athletes completed the requirements and are registered to vote in the 2020 election. That total marks 87 percent of the SU student-athlete population.
Additionally, 12 teams had all of its members complete the voter registration requirements for their respective states.
The ONESHIPVotes campaign,
linked above, focuses on voter registration, voter education, and voter participation for all student-athletes, coaches, and staff for the general election, state elections and local elections. Each week, updated team totals were posted on the athletics website and on social media. SAAC members were responsible for updating their team totals.
