The Shippensburg University Department of Athletics is collaborating with Ship Votes, the university’s non-partisan voter registration group.
The purpose of this collaboration is to focus upon voter registration, voter education, and voter participation for all student-athletes, coaches, and staff for the general election, state elections and local elections.
The Department of Athletics has designated Election Day as a mandatory day off from required athletic activities to promote student-athlete participation in the general election.

Ship Votes is a non-partisan coalition of faculty, staff, students, and university administrators, whose primary goal is that of maximizing Shippensburg student voting in local, state, and federal elections. The current coalition is led by a wide variety of faculty and students along with partnership and support from the Campus Election Engagement Project (CEEP) and the Campus Vote Project. The ultimate goal - both long term and short term - is to register as many Shippensburg University students to vote as possible, and to apply for mail-in ballots. We aim to inculcate a spirit of civic responsibility among students so that they influence their peers to be engaged citizens.
If you are an out-of-state (non-Pennsylvania) student looking to complete your voter registration, visit vote.org or vote.gov. Both of these websites will allow you to check your voter registration status and to help you register to vote in your respective state.
