The Shippensburg University men's swimming team won five events Saturday, including the final two individual events, to claim a 112-93 victory at Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) opponent Edinboro in a dual meet from McComb Fieldhouse.
 
Shippensburg went 1-2-3 in the 500-yard freestyle and had two swimmers finish within .01 seconds of each other to go 1-2 in the 100-yard breaststroke to rally and achieve the dual-meet win over the Fighting Scots. The Raiders achieved 12 swims that satisfied the PSAC qualifying standard.
 
Senior Jeff Beyer won the 500-yard freestyle in 4:57.39, with junior Eric Zimmerman taking second in 4:59.76. Freshman David Bussard was third.
 
Earlier in the meet, Zimmerman won the 1,000-yard freestyle in 10:24.30, with Bussard second in 10:54. Beyer won the 200-yard freestyle in 1:48.28, while sophomore Trevor Woolwine finished second in 1:49.14.
 
Helping to secure the victory was the 1-2 finish in the 100-yard breaststroke, as sophomore Matt Bochanski completed his swim in 1:00.85 and sophomore Andrew Hale in 1:00.86.
 
Another key 1-2 finish came in the 100-yard freestyle, with junior Hunter Keck winning in 48.34 seconds and Woolwine claiming second place in 49.18 seconds.
 
In relays, the quartet of senior Nick Bloom, Hale, sophomore Vin Salvatore and Keck completed the 200-yard medley relay with a second-place time of 1:37.89. Keck, Woolwine, freshman Elijah Zinn and Beyer finished the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:28.18.
 
Shippensburg returns to action February 1 with its final competition of the regular season, the Navy Invite.
