The Shippensburg University men's swimming team achieved the top time in four events on Friday night as it competed in a dual meet for the first time after the holiday break with competition in Erie at Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) opponent Gannon.
 
Sophomore Matt Bochanski posted the top performances of the night for the Raiders, as he posted a seven-second victory in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:07.44 and a three-second victory in the 400-yard individual medley (IM) with a time of 4:18.75.
 
Senior Jeff Beyer broke the 10-minute mark in the 1,000-yard freestyle, taking first with a time of 9:55.56. Sophomore Vin Salvatore was the first to touch the wall in the 50-yard breaststroke, posting a time of 27.98 seconds.
 
Sophomore Andrew Hale finished second to Bochanski in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:14.99. Junior Hunter Keck was second to Salvatore in the 50-yard breaststroke with a time of 28.24 seconds.
 
Freshman David Bussard finished second in the 200-yard freestyle, swimming 1:54.80, while sophomore Trevor Woolwine was second in the 50-yard backstroke with a time of 24.45 seconds.
 
Both of SU's relays finished in second place. Hale, Bochanski, Keck and Woolwine teamed up to complete the 200-yard medley relay in 1:38.96. Keck, Woolwine, Hale and Beyer formed the quartet for the 200-yard freestyle relay that swam 1:27.96.
 
Gannon claimed the victory in the dual meet.
 
Shippensburg is back in action tomorrow morning at Edinboro.
