SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University women's soccer team did not have an answer for visiting Kutztown on Saturday, as the Raiders dropped a 5-1 decision to the Golden Bears in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division matchup from warm and sunny David See Field.
Shippensburg (4-4, 2-4 PSAC East) got a career-high 15 saves from junior
Delaney Shifflett, including 12 in the second half. It is the third time in the last four matches that Shifflett has recorded double-digit saves.
A goal by redshirt-freshman
Julia Dalton, the first of her collegiate career, got the Raiders off the scoreboard. Her goal came in the 54th minute of play.
Kutztown (3-3, 2-3) raced out to a 2-0 lead in the first eight minutes on goals by Maggie Cecere and never looked back. The Golden Bears scored early in the second half and established a 4-0 lead by the 53rd minute.
Shippensburg is back in action Wednesday when it hosts East Stroudsburg from David See Field.
