SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University men's soccer team could not find the back of the net on Saturday, as visiting Goldey-Beacom posted a 3-0 victory over the Raiders in a rather contentious non-conference matchup from David See Field.
Shippensburg (0-1-1) finished with a 7-3 edge in corner kicks and a 7-6 edge in shots on goal over Goldey-Beacom (2-2-0), but the visiting Lightning converted their scoring opportunities to achieve the win. The match was particularly chippy, featuring numerous stoppages, 39 combined fouls and five yellow cards.
Senior
Bradley Brickman finished with three saves in goal for the Raiders.
Shippensburg returns to action at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday with its Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division opener against Bloomsburg from David See Field.
