Jack Goertzen and a single from freshman
Connor Uhrig for its lone hits of the day, but drew six walks. Goertzen and junior
Jacob Pollock hit sacrifice flies in later innings. Â
Â
Freshman
Jared Showalter retired the first six batters he faced, including a pair of strikeouts, but ran into trouble in the third and ultimately took the loss. Redshirt-sophomore
Noah Inch pitched two innings of relief, allowing an unearned run and striking out three.
Â
IUP (12-25) got five innings from JP Pellis, who struck out three. Three of the four runs by the Crimson Hawks in the decisive third inning came with two outs.
