The Shippensburg University baseball team dropped both games of a doubleheader at No. 28 Millersville on Friday, falling by scores of 5-0 and 5-4 in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division play at Cooper Park.

Shippensburg (11-12, 3-3 PSAC East) rallied from an early 4-0 deficit in Game 2 to tie the score at 4-4 through four innings, as junior
Jacob Pollock hit a two-run single in the third and freshman
Tony Vavaroutsos laced a two-run double in the fourth. The Raiders had nine hits and drew seven walks in the nightcap, but stranded 13 men on base.

Millersville (18-7, 5-1) got a 78-pitch shutout in the opener from Eli Nabholz, the reigning PSAC East Pitcher of the Year. Senior
Jack Goertzen went 3-for-3 against Nabholz, but the Marauder senior righty allowed just one other hit and struck out seven in the complete-game effort.

Zack Sims threw a complete game in the opener for the Raiders, allowing five runs (three earned) and striking out seven. He did not walk a batter in his 96-pitch effort.

Dalton Oates threw 2.1 innings in Game 2, while junior
Kyle Lysy threw a career-high 3.2 innings out of the bullpen. Lysy allowed just one run – on a two-out bloop single in the fifth – while scattering four hits.

Zack Zoller equaled a career high in Game 2 with four hits – singling in four of his five at-bats. Senior
Tommy Baggett had two singles and a walk in Game 2.

For the hosts, Cole Friese had five hits, scored four runs and stole a base. Ben Harris had two hits and three RBIs in Game 2, while Dominic Hardaway doubled twice.
