The Shippensburg University baseball team finished its first Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division series on Sunday with a road doubleheader sweep at Kutztown, shutting out the Golden Bears by scores of 7-0 and 3-0 at North Campus Field.

Shippensburg (10-10, 3-1 PSAC East) swept Kutztown (2-12, 1-3) on its home field for the fifth consecutive year behind a pair of sterling pitching performances. Redshirt-sophomore
Noah Inch came within two outs of a no-hitter in Game 1, yielding a lone infield single in his shutout. Senior
Michael Hope struck out five in throwing his second career shutout.

SU has now won 11 of the last 12 meetings overall against, with the lone setback in the last three years being the Game 1 victory on Friday. It is also the second time in the last three years that Shippensburg has posted two shutouts at North Campus Field; the Raiders won 2-0 and 5-0 in the 2017 season behind shutouts by
Mark Curtis and
Grant Hoover.

Inch equaled his career high with 10 strikeouts for the third time this season, and registered his first career complete game and shutout with Sunday's performance. He allowed three walks and hit one batter, and got six of the final nine outs via strikeout.

Hope had to work out of a pair of bases-loaded jams to achieve the Game 2 shutout. In the bottom of the first and one out, Hope induced a double play. In the bottom of the seventh, Hope got a flyout to center to strand the bases loaded. Overall, he allowed three walks, five hits and hit one batter.

Senior
Tommy Baggett delivered a pair of key hits in both games to steer the Raiders to victory. In Game 1, Baggett clocked a bases-clearing double with two outs in the sixth inning that extended the Raider lead to 5-0. In Game 2, Baggett hit another RBI-double to make it 2-0 in SU's favor. He finished the day 4-for-7 at the plate with a stolen base.

Sophomore
Logan Williamson hit a two-run double with two outs in the first inning of Game 1 to open the scoring. He also had an RBI-single in Game 2. Sophomore
Chase Zurawski hit a solo home run in the second inning of Game 2 to open the scoring.

Freshman
Anthony Vavaroutsos reached base in all four of his Game 1 plate appearances, hitting a double and drawing three walks. The Raiders were hit by six pitches in Game 1.
