The Shippensburg University lacrosse team played its final non-conference game of the season Wednesday afternoon, dropping a road decision to the No. 22-ranked New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) by an 18-4 score from President's Stadium.
Shippensburg (2-2) got all four of its goals from sophomore
Alana Cardaci, bringing her season goal total to 11 through four games. Sophomore

Sydney Costanza each picked up an assist on the offensive end.

Valerie Hertz was a force along the back lines, recording team highs with five caused turnovers and six groundballs in addition to a team-high six draw controls. Freshman defender

Shaely Gamble made seven saves for the Raiders.

NYIT (3-1) got seven goals from Shannon Donovan, four goals and 10 draw controls from Brooke Basso, and five-point efforts from Jaclyn Grzelaczyk and Madisyn Hausch. The Bears out-shot the Raiders by 12 and posted a 16-8 edge on draws.
