SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University women's basketball team put forth a late surge on Saturday but it was not enough, as the Raiders dropped a pivotal Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division matchup versus Lock Haven, 65-50, from Heiges Field House.
Shippensburg (11-14, 7-10 PSAC) outscored Lock Haven (13-11, 8-9) by an 18-5 margin in the fourth quarter, but the Raiders could not overcome offensive struggles – as the team scored just 20 points in the first half and shot just 30 percent from the field.
The Bald Eagles finished with a 58-34 rebounding advantage over the Raiders, including 25 offensive rebounds that resulted in 24 second-chance points. Bink Redman finished with six points, 18 rebounds (10 offensive) and five assists for the visitors, who also hit 11 three-pointers in the contest.
Freshman
Aunbrielle Green tied LHU's Rileigh Devine with a game-high 14 points to go along with five rebounds. Freshman
Lauren Pettis also scored in double figures with 10 points and a team-leading six rebounds.
Freshman
Dah'Naija Barnes made her first collegiate start, while sophomore
Emily Houck earned her the second start of her career. Barnes scored a career-high five points, while Houck tied her career high with three points.
Freshman
Lauren Mills tied her career high with two three-pointers in the contest, finishing with nine points. SU was without the services Saturday of sophomore

With two weeks remaining in the regular season, the Raiders are clinging to the sixth and final playoff spot in the PSAC Eastern Division. SU holds a half-game lead over East Stroudsburg. Lock Haven and Millersville are now one game ahead of the Raiders in a tie for fourth place.
