SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University women's basketball team could not contain a second-half onslaught from visiting Millersville on Wednesday night, as the Raiders dropped an 83-74 decision to the Marauders in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division game from Heiges Field House.
Shippensburg (11-13, 7-9 PSAC) falls into a three-way tie for fourth place in the division with Millersville (10-13, 7-9) and Saturday's opponent, Lock Haven (12-11, 7-9). The Marauders, however, now hold a tiebreaker over the Raiders by virtue of sweeping the season series.
East Stroudsburg also lost on Wednesday, leaving the Warriors (9-14, 6-10) one game behind each of the three aforementioned teams. One of the four teams (ESU, MU, LHU, SU) will not end up in the playoffs at season's end.
The Raiders got 22 points in the first half from sophomore
Ariel Jones; 21 points from freshman
Aunbrielle Green, and a double-double from freshman
Lauren Pettis (10 points, 10 rebounds), but Millersville's Lauren Lister led all players with a game-high 38 points. Lister scored 24 points in the second half, and in the fourth quarter, she scored 15 points on 7-of-7 shooting.
SU shot 58 percent in the fourth quarter (11-of-19) despite Jones missing the final 10 minutes due to an injury. MU, however, shot 67 percent (10-of-15) in the fourth quarter and shot 59 percent (20-of-34) in the second half to flip a four-point halftime deficit into a nine-point lead late in the contest.
Courtney Dimoff was also key for the visitors, scoring 21 points including 5-of-9 from three-point range. The rest of the Marauders were 1-of-8 from long range.
Jones moved into fourth on SU's single-season scoring list with 630 points on the year (school record is 670, set by Tracy Spencer in 1995-96). It was her 20th game of the season exceeding 20 points.

Pettis's double-double is her sixth of the season. She was 4-of-8 from the field and had five offensive rebounds to complement her five defensive rebounds. It was the ninth time this season Pettis finished a game in double figures.
