The Shippensburg University men's swimming team wrapped up a busy three-day weekend in Ithaca on Sunday with another set of strong performances at the 2019 Bomber Invitational. The Raiders finished fifth in the team standings with 736.5 points.
 
Sophomore Andrew Hale broke the school record of senior Nick Bloom in the infrequently-contested 100-yard IM, winning the event in 52.29 seconds. Bloom also picked up his conference cut in the 200-yard breaststroke by swimming 2:07.80. Bloom achieved his season best in the 200-yard backstroke with a third-place time of 1:54.24.
 
Senior Jeff Beyer pulled off the seemingly impossible and tied someone in the 1,650-yard freestyle – he picked up his conference qualifier for the season and swam a strong season best of 16:25.94 that gave him third place alongside Rochester's Eric Weidman. Junior Eric Zimmerman swam a season best of 16:41.63 for sixth place.
 
Sophomores Trevor Woolwine and Matt Bochanski each posted strong times in the 100 IM – Woolwine swam 53.63 seconds and Bochanski swam 54.30 seconds.
 
Senior Adam Fox paced the Raiders in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 48.48 seconds.
 
Beyer, junior Hunter Keck, Woolwine and Hale teamed up for a third-place time of 3:09.72 in the meet-concluding 400-yard freestyle relay.
 
Shippensburg returns to action next decade with a January 10 dual meet at Gannon.
