The Shippensburg University football team dropped a 55-5 decision at No. 17 Kutztown on Saturday in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division matchup from Andre Reed Stadium.
Shippensburg (2-6, 2-3 PSAC East) held a time-of-possession advantage of more than 14 minutes against Kutztown (8-0, 5-0), but went just 3-of-16 on third down while yielding numerous big plays on defense. The host Golden Bears totaled 335 rushing yards, with Abdul Hassan-Neblett running for 203 yards and four scores on just 10 carries.

David Balint III set the school record for single-game receptions by a tight end for the second time in the last three weeks. Balint III enhanced his career high with 11 receptions and 148 receiving yards, including a long of 41 yards. No other Red Raider had more than 24 receiving yards in the game.

Brycen Mussina finished 25-of-46 for 223 yards and two interceptions. He was sacked five times.

Luke Durkin finished with 80 yards on 19 carries. Redshirt-junior

Shippensburg's first points came on a safety with 5:14 left in the first quarter, as the Golden Bears had a punt blocked by redshirt-freshman
Jared M. Smith and they subsequently fell on the ball in the end zone. The only other SU points came on a 27-yard field goal in the second quarter by sophomore
David Shank.

Neblett had consecutive touchdown runs of 59 and 52 yards in the second quarter that turned the tide. KU held a 35-5 lead at halftime. Golden Bear quarterback Collin DiGalbo was 14-of-20 for 216 yards and two touchdowns while also running for 44 yards and the game's first score – a one-yard touchdown.
