SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University men's soccer team was held in check by visiting East Stroudsburg on Wednesday as the Raiders dropped a 2-0 decision to the Warriors on an unseasonably hot and muggy afternoon at David See Field.
Shippensburg (1-3-2, 1-2-1) managed three corner kicks in the first half but did not collect a shot until the second half. The Raiders were held to just one shot on goal overall. Senior
Bradley Brickman returned to the cage and made six saves – all in the second half.
East Stroudsburg (4-2-2, 1-2-0) only had four shots on goal of its own through the first 75 minutes of play, but converted twice. Anton Lysell chipped a ball past Brickman in the 26th minute, and Irvin Zuzic had a diving header off a cross in the 64th minute to give the Warriors a cushion.
Corners finished 5-3 in ESU's advantage.
Shippensburg returns to action at noon Saturday with a divisional road match at West Chester.
