SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University volleyball team was limited to season lows in kills and hitting percentage on Friday night by visiting Gannon, as the Raiders dropped their first Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) match of the season by scores of 25-17, 25-13 and 25-18 from Heiges Field House.
Shippensburg (15-4, 7-1 PSAC) managed just 26 kills and a .075 hitting rate against Gannon (16-5, 9-1), who was fresh off a five-set marathon last night at Shepherd that was won by the Rams. Senior
Samantha Webber had 10 kills and hit .320 to pace the Raider attack.

Emily Hangen was held to a season-low 20 assists.

The Golden Knights received an excellent performance from junior setter Ashley Beyers, who had 32 assists, 16 digs, three blocks, an ace, and five kills on seven attempts. The balanced GU attack featured all of their starters besides libero Leitshuh totaling five or more kills. The visitors also served 10 aces compared to just two for the Raiders.
Shippensburg hosts Mercyhurst at 4 p.m. Saturday from Heiges Field House.
