RECAP: No. 4 Field Hockey Rolls Past Seton Hill, 11-0

Raiders score most goals in a match since 2011

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The No. 4 Shippensburg University field hockey team had multiple players achieve hat tricks Tuesday as the Raiders posted an 11-0 victory over Seton Hill in a non-conference matchup from Robb Sports Complex.

Shippensburg (4-1) scored its most goals in a match since Sept. 4, 2011 (12-0 over Southern Connecticut), posting seven tallies in the first half and four more after the intermission. The Raiders finished with a 30-1 advantage in shots on goal and an 8-1 edge in penalty corners.

Sophomore Kelly Shulenberger sparked the offense in the first half with a hat trick; she also had an assist in the match. Her season goal total is now at four.

Junior Megan Green scored four goals – including three in the second half – for her first tallies of the season. Green, a former defender converted last season to forward, entered Tuesday's match with one career goal through 10 collegiate contests.

Sophomore Jazmin Petrantonio scored twice and also had a pair of splendid assists – as both Shulenberger and sophomore Emily Stauffer tipped in tallies from feeds into the box. Stauffer also assisted Shulenberger's first goal.

Freshman Kalah Williams notched her first collegiate tally with a re-direct in the box off a centering pass from freshman Adrienne McGarrigle, while freshman Valen Alonso had an assist on Green's final tally – a rocket shot from a late penalty corner.

Redshirt-senior Ally Mooney and redshirt-freshman Megan Lay combined for the shutout in goal. Lay was credited with one save in the second half.

UP NEXT: Saturday, 11 a.m. vs. IUP.
