The Shippensburg University softball team was eliminated from the 2018 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships on Thursday evening with a 4-0 loss to Eastern Division rival West Chester in an elimination game from Veterans Park.

Shippensburg (22-19) managed just four hits against West Chester (38-12), who entered the elimination bracket earlier in the day after a loss to Gannon. The Golden Rams got on the board in the fourth with two outs on a bases-loaded walk, and then put the game away in the sixth with a pair of home runs.

The Raiders got a double in the third inning from senior
Chloe Collins to put two runners in scoring position, but that was as close as the squad would come to touching home plate. Sophomore
Kayla Bonawitz, freshman
Courtney Coy and senior
Macy Luck each singled.

Junior
Taryn Wilson threw five innings plus four batters in the sixth. Wilson struck out two. Coy got the final six outs, striking out two and allowing just one hit.

Thursday's loss likely brings to an end a tremendous four-year journey for SU's senior class:
Tara Bicko, Collins, Luck,
Maddie Mulhall,
MacKayla Paulus and
Anna Warfield.

The 2018 NCAA Division II Softball Championships selection show airs Sunday. Shippensburg was ranked No. 10 in this week's regional rankings; eight teams will be selected to represent the Atlantic Region.
