SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University women's tennis team could not overcome visiting East Stroudsburg on Friday in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division dual meet, dropping a 9-0 decision to the Warriors on a cold and cloudy afternoon at the Robb Sports Complex Tennis Courts.

Shippensburg (1-13, 0-3 PSAC East) battled East Stroudsburg (4-7, 1-1) on its Senior Day match, as the team honored
Hannah Coath after the match. Coath plans to graduate in December after completing her student-teaching requirements.

SU won 30 singles games as well as seven doubles games in a competitive contest with the Warriors. At No. 2 doubles, Coath and sophomore
Daisy Rundio combined to win four games.
Juniors
Gabbie Binder and
Kaylin Gallagher won a game at No. 1 doubles, while juniors
Victoria Galanti and
Megan Moorhead won twice at No. 3 doubles.

In singles, Rundio won the second set at No. 3 singles but came up short in a tiebreaker. Rundio fell 6-4, 4-6, 10-5 to Aubrianna Stetina. Gallagher won seven games at No. 2 singles, falling 6-1, 7-6. Binder was forced to default her No. 1 singles match due to injury.

At No. 4 singles, Coath won seven games. Moorhead won three games in the first set of her match at No. 5 singles, while Galanti won three games in the second set of her match at No. 6 singles.

Shippensburg will host Shepherd at 4 p.m. Tuesday from the Robb Sports Complex Tennis Courts.
