SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University softball team split a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division home doubleheader with East Stroudsburg on Thursday, winning the opener by a score of 3-2 before falling in the nightcap, 3-0, on a chilly but sunny afternoon at Robb Field.
Shippensburg (14-8, 3-1 PSAC East) collected 17 hits and struck out just four times in the doubleheader but could not string together any runs over the final eight innings of the day. Six Raiders collected multiple hits in the doubleheader, while junior

Chloe Collins once again combined to throw all 14 innings in the circle.
Wilson improved her record to 11-5 with the win in the opener, scattering two runs on four hits while striking out 10 batters. She retired the final 14 batters she faced and also struck out all four batters she faced in Game 2. Collins took the Game 2 loss, allowing three runs on seven hits in 5.2 innings.
East Stroudsburg (8-16, 1-3) got complete-game efforts from Angelica Dark and Mickayla Grow. In Game 2, Grow threw a shutout in her first collegiate start, yielding a walk and seven singles with one strikeout. SU loaded the bases with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning but was unable to score.
The key hits in Game 1 came off the bat of freshman
Courtney Coy and Collins. In the bottom of the first inning, Coy slammed a double over the head over the center fielder to give the Raiders a 2-0 lead. Collins singled home a run in the bottom of the fifth for the third Raider run and to break a 2-2 tie.
Sophomore
Meghan Klee reached base four times in doubleheader, going 3-for-5 with a walk. Coy was 3-for-6 on the day, while Collins, senior

Macy Luck all collected multiple hits.
Shippensburg hosts West Chester at 1 p.m. Friday from Robb Field.
