SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University baseball team fell in a single seven-inning Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division game Wednesday afternoon against Millersville, 6-2, on a sunny day from Fairchild Field.

Shippensburg (16-17, 6-10 PSAC) and Millersville (22-13, 10-6) wrapped up their four-game series with today's game after inclement forced a postponement of the second game of a doubleheader on March 28.

Millersville grabbed an early 2-0 lead in the first after Dominic Hardaway hit a two-run home run to right-center field. The Marauders would extend their lead in the third with two more runs and held that 4-0 advantage until the bottom of the fourth.

Shippensburg got on the board on in the fourth on a solo home run from senior
Dalton Hoiles. The home run was his seventh of the season, marking a new single-season career high for the senior. The center fielder finished 2-for-4 on the day.

After Millersville made it 5-1 in the fifth, SU would score its last run of the day in the sixth on a RBI-single from junior
Tommy Baggett that drove in junior
Drew Bene to make it 5-2. Millersville added an insurance run in the seventh to down SU, 6-2.

Baggett joined Hoiles as the only other Raider to have a multi-hit game, finishing 2-for-3. Bene finished 1-for-3 as did junior
Cash Gladfelter who also walked in the game, reaching base in two of his four plate appearances.

Gabe Mosser and sophomore
Kyle Lysy each threw a shutout inning out of relief for SU. Both righties recorded a strikeout in their appearances.

Shippensburg will return to action Friday at 1 p.m. when it will host Mansfield in a PSAC Eastern Division doubleheader from Fairchild Field.
