The Shippensburg University women's tennis team won all seven of its contested matches on Saturday to achieve its first victory of the season, posting a 7-2 triumph at Holy Family in a non-conference matchup on a chilly, windy afternoon of competition.

Shippensburg (1-10) won five times at singles and twice in doubles to overcome a pair of defaults due to injury. Junior
Gabbie Binder competed at No. 1 singles for just the second time in her career and emerged victorious, posting a 7-6, 6-3 victory over Alleyn Llaban. Binder and junior
Megan Moorhead paired up for the first time collegiately doubles and won a marathon 9-7 match in the No. 1 doubles flight.

Daisy Rundio posted unblemished victories in their respective singles matches – Gallagher at No. 2 singles and Rundio at No. 3 singles. Gallagher and Rundio teamed up for an 8-0 win at No. 2 doubles as well.

Moorhead won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4 singles for her second singles win in the last five days, while junior
Victoria Galanti won 6-3, 6-4 at No. 5 singles to achieve her second collegiate singles victory.

"I am very proud of the battle today," head coach
Lindsey Tennis said of her squad. "We started off defaulting two matches, but we didn't let up. We are really proving that we can compete."

Shippensburg returns home Wednesday to face Hood at 4 p.m. from the Robb Sports Complex Tennis Courts.
