Tennis Drops PSAC Eastern Division Opener at Kutztown, 8-1

Rundio wins at No. 3 singles for the Raiders in the league opener

The Shippensburg University women's tennis team opened its Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division schedule Tuesday on a cold, damp afternoon at Kutztown, but the Golden Bears posted an 8-1 victory over the Raiders from the Keystone Courts.
 
Sophomore Daisy Rundio was victorious at No. 3 singles, posting a 7-6, 6-3 victory over Alicia Pursell. Junior Kaylin Gallagher won the second set in her match at No. 2 singles, but came up short, dropping a 6-3, 1-6, 6-2 decision to Yasmeen Malik.
 
Junior Victoria Galanti won four games at No. 6 singles, while junior Hannah Coath won a pair of games at No. 4 singles. Junior Megan Moorhead won a game at No. 5 singles.
 
In doubles, Moorhead and Galanti teamed up to win four games at the No. 3 flight. Gallagher and Rundio won a game at No. 1 doubles, while Coath and junior Gabbie Binder won a pair of games at No. 2 doubles.
 
Shippensburg hosts Fairmont State at 2 p.m. Friday from the Robb Sports Complex Tennis Courts.
