SU gets game-high 22 points from Kellem

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University men's basketball team got a game-high 22 points on Sunday from senior Antonio Kellem, including a pair of key three-pointers in the final two minutes of regulation, to propel the Raiders over visiting Pittsburgh-Johnstown, 76-71, in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) matchup from Heiges Field House.

Shippensburg (8-0, 2-0 PSAC) dominated the first half, opening the game on a 17-4 run just 4:30 into the contest. SU made its first five three-point attempts in that span but finished the game just 5-of-23 (22 percent) from long range. The Raiders used a 13-2 run over the final 8:27 of the first half to establish their largest lead of the game, 39-23, at halftime.

Pitt-Johnstown (5-3, 1-1) opened the second half on a 16-5 run to trail by just six points, and later worked its deficit to just four points entering the final two minutes. Kellem hit his first three-pointer with 1:49 left to put the Raiders up seven, and then made another with 50 seconds remaining to put SU up nine.

Kellem surpassed the 20-point mark for the second straight game and fourth time this season but also equaled his career high with eight assists. SU hit seven three-pointers in the first half – Kellem made one, and assisted on the other six.
