Stauffer, Sluymer each post hat tricks in the Raider victory

The No. 5-ranked Shippensburg University field hockey team got hat tricks Wednesday from sophomore Emily Stauffer and freshman Jenna Sluymer as it dispatched Seton Hill, 6-0, in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) matchup from Dick's Sporting Goods Field in Greensburg.

Shippensburg (12-3, 6-2 PSAC) clinched a berth in the PSAC Tournament for the 18th consecutive season with its victory over Seton Hill (0-16, 0-8). The Raiders are currently the No. 3 seed in the PSAC standings with two matches remaining.

Stauffer and Sluymer interchanged goals during the opening frame to give SU a 4-0 halftime lead. Freshman Adrienne McGarrigle and sophomore Jazmin Petrantonio assisted Stauffer's first-half tallies, while junior Rosalia Cappadora and sophomore Molly Herigan assisted Sluymer's first-half tallies.

Redshirt-senior Ally Mooney and redshirt-freshman Megan Lay combined on the shutout in goal. Mooney was credited with one save, while Lay made two saves.

Shippensburg finished with a 23-3 advantage in shots on goal and a 13-3 edge in penalty corners.
