SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – The Shippensburg University men's soccer team will be hosting a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) playoff match for the first time in eight years on Tuesday, as the Raiders will entertain East Stroudsburg in a quarterfinal at 4 p.m. from David See Field.

Shippensburg (10-3-3, 6-2-3 PSAC), the No. 4 seed, is in the postseason for the first time since 2013. SU is hosting a conference tournament match for the first time since winning the PSAC Championship in 2010, claiming a penalty-kick shootout after a 1-1 draw over the Warriors.

East Stroudsburg (9-7, 6-5), the No. 5 seed, is the defending conference champion. Last year, as the No. 4 seed, ESU defeated Mercyhurst 3-0, advanced after a 0-0 tie with West Chester, and then bested Gannon, 1-0, for the conference title.

Shippensburg is 6-2-2 against East Stroudsburg in the last 10 meetings despite ESU holding a lopsided 45-14-3 edge in the series history. The Warriors lost to the Raiders earlier this season, 1-0, in East Stroudsburg.

The last five meetings between the two teams have all been one-goal matches, including four that went to overtime. The road team has won all of them, as none of the four overtime matches ended in a tie.

East Stroudsburg has scored the most goals of any PSAC team this season (41), but has yielded the fourth-most (28). Shippensburg, meanwhile, ranks sixth in goals (31), but has yielded the second-fewest (14).

Both teams have veteran keepers. SU senior Garret Watson is second in the PSAC in goals-against average (0.89 GAA) and save percentage (.813) this season and is tied for the conference lead with a career-high five shutouts. ESU's Will Boerema is ninth in the PSAC in GAA (1.48) but is the reigning PSAC Tournament MVP after posting shutouts in all three postseason matches last season.

Shippensburg senior Cole Kropnick leads the PSAC with 26 points and is tied for the conference lead with 11 goals this season, but has missed the last two matches. Kropnick scored the game-winner in the 1-0 victory over ESU earlier this season.

East Stroudsburg boasts talented strike Eddy Enowbi, who is tied for third in PSAC with 21 points (eight goals, five assists). Irvin Zuzic and Jordon Ellison are tied for the conference lead with eight assists this season.

The winner of Tuesday's matchup will face No. 1 seed West Chester, the host of the 2018 PSAC Men's Soccer Semifinals and Championship, on Friday.
