The Shippensburg University women's soccer team dropped a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) road contest at Gannon on Friday afternoon, dropping a 2-0 decision to the Golden Knights from McConnell Family Stadium.
Shippensburg (2-4-1, 1-4 PSAC) managed just three shots on goal in the contest – one in the first half and two in the second half. Freshman goalkeeper
Delaney Shifflett was credited with four saves.
Gannon (4-1-1, 4-1-1) got both of its goals from Taylor Lewis. She headed home a corner kick in the eighth minute of play, and scored again in the 54th minute when she worked free of a defender and rifled a volley into the top right corner of the net.
The Golden Knights finished with a 6-3 advantage in shots on goal and a 5-3 advantage in corner kicks. Goalkeeper Danitza Indacochea made three saves in the shutout.
Shippensburg returns to action at 1 p.m. Sunday when it hosts Lock Haven from David See Field.
