The Shippensburg University women's tennis team picked up its second league victory of the season on Sunday, posting a 5-4 triumph at East Stroudsburg in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division matchup held at Stroudsburg High School.
Shippensburg (4-7, 2-2 PSAC East) gained the early advantage on East Stroudsburg (2-8, 0-3) by winning two of the three doubles matches. Freshman

Gabbie Binder teamed up for their first victory at No. 1 doubles in a match this season (second overall) – an 8-5 victory over Amber Jadus and Kayla Loar.

Madeline Carson once again had success at No. 3 doubles, winning 8-4.
The doubles matches proved decisive, as the two teams evenly split the six singles matches. ESU claimed No. 1 through No. 3 singles, while SU was victorious at No. 4 through No. 6 singles.
Gallagher won 6-3, 6-3 at No. 5 singles while Rundio won 6-0, 6-4 at No. 6 singles. The match-clinching victory came at No. 4 singles, where freshman
Madeline Carson posted a 6-4, 6-4 triumph.
Miller went to a tiebreaker at No. 1 singles but dropped the third set, 5-7. She won the first set against Jadus, 6-2. Binder won two games at No. 2 singles, while senior
Emilie Luttman won four games at No. 3 singles.
Shippensburg travels to Shepherd on Wednesday for a 4 p.m. non-conference matchup with the Rams.
