The Shippensburg University women's tennis team dropped an 8-1 decision at Bloomsburg on a windy Saturday in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Eastern Division matchup with the Huskies from the Burt Reese Tennis Center.
Shippensburg (3-7, 1-2 PSAC East) got a win at No. 4 singles from freshman
Madeline Carson, who claimed a 6-4, 4-6, 10-7 triumph for a three-set victory.
Senior
Emilie Luttman nearly made it a second singles victory for the Raiders, dropping a heartbreaker in a third-set tiebreak. Luttman won the first set at No. 3 singles, 6-4, but ultimately fell 2-6, 8-10.
Sophomore
Kaylin Gallagher won three games in each set at No. 5 singles. Gallagher and Luttman teamed up to win three games at No. 2 doubles.
Freshman
Daisy Rundio won eight games in her match at No. 6 singles, falling 6-2, 7-6. Fellow freshman
Catherine Miller won four games at No. 1 singles.
Bloomsburg (4-6, 3-1) won all three doubles matches to claim the early momentum.
Shippensburg returns to action at noon Sunday for a PSAC East match at East Stroudsburg.
