WEST CHESTER, Pa. – Senior
Jake Kennedy broke the school record for career home runs Sunday as the Shippensburg University baseball team split the final two games of its Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) series against No. 25 West Chester on a warm and sunny day from Serpico Stadium.
Shippensburg (9-13-1, 4-4 PSAC East) took Game 1 from West Chester (14-5, 6-2) by a score of 10-1, while West Chester took Game 2 by a score of 2-1 in eight innings.

Game 1

After a Spangler single put runners on first and second with one out, Hoover singled through the right side to plate Bene and give the Raiders a 1-0 lead. Two batters later and with two outs, senior
Ryan McMillen lined a double to right center field to drive in two and extend the Raider lead to 3-0.
After a Gladfelter single and a walk by sophomore
Ty Painter, the Raiders had the bases loaded with Kennedy due up. The senior from Coatesville took a 3-2 offering over the left-field fence to extend the Raider lead to 7-0. In total, SU plated seven runs on seven hits in the second inning alone.
The Raiders added three runs over the next five innings to seal a 10-1 win. Goertzen hit his third home run of the season for SU in the sixth.
Curtis turned in a quality line, pitching six innings and yielding just one earned run while striking out four. Amisano pitched a clean seventh to close out the game for SU.
Game 2
